The media is full of contradictory reporting. There are many social media health and fitness influencers ( notice I did not say professionals or experts ) that guide their followers with ‘sometimes’ quite ill-informed advice.
Smart Balanced Living is completely different from previous diets or lifestyle interventions ! I would say that of course !
We are bombarded by diets that work, be it from Celebrity endorsement or in fact evidence based studies and trials that inform us of weight loss trials that have been successfulHowever, the success is generally not sustained.
Within a year, more than half of the people who have lost weight will have put that weight back on.  In fact most, put even more weight back on (Mann, et. al., 2007).
The Smart Balanced Living concept chooses to incorporate a person-centred approach supported with evidence based science What that means is a personalised health plan to suit the individual with their personal preferences incorporated in order that it is completely flexible and sustainable and guess what, even enjoyable.


How do I know it works ?

Years of practice. I have maintained a healthy weight my entire life, whilst enjoying all foods I love.  I have three gorgeous, healthy, fit and active children who all adore food. They have never had teenage acne and they do not have cavities, nor have they ever had an issue with their weight.
I am a qualified Nutritionist (BSc HONS) and currently studying a Masters in Person-Centred Practice in Health and Wellbeing. I am training to become a Personal Trainer.

Can it work for me ?

Following a sustainable diet and healthy lifestyle for many years is difficult to do.  But, I have tools that can help you. 
I have managed to raise children who are healthy and have a healthy relationship with food and their bodies.  This is more than just a fad. I have been passionate about food, nutrition and health since I was a teenager.
